7 Items to Pack in Your Disney Bag

You may be heading to Disney for the first time or have already gone and regretted some of your decisions about what you brought with you. Either way, we have you covered by reviewing the 7 essential items you should pack in your Disney bag.
Magic Bands or Tickets

Listen, if you were to pack one thing and one thing only, your park admission is the most critical. Make sure you have the tickets and/or Magic Bands for the entire family. Make sure you have them in your Disney bag but also don’t forget them at home before you travel to Orlando either! While guest services will certainly help you to make accommodations for park entry, you will not want to go through the hassle and time to work on that.
Ponchos & Rain Gear

Florida is unpredictable when it comes to rain. It could be sunny without a cloud in the sky and 15 minutes later a torrential downpour and then transition to a bright sunny day again. Either way, you want to be prepared because all other Disney guests will have the same idea to run to the nearest indoor area to shelter from the rain and it can get crowded and unpleasant. Make sure to bring ponchos with you (unless you want to spend $17 at Disney) for everyone in the group. Also, dry socks aren’t a bad idea either. If you decide to also pack an umbrella, just know that you will almost certainly be triggered for a bag check at security, as the umbrella tends to trigger the metal detector.
Sunblock, Cooling Towels & Handheld Fans

Unlike the unpredictability of rain in Florida, the heat is almost certain at any time of year. And for those not used to humidity, it can be quite brutal. It’s so important that everyone has SPF on and reapplies throughout the day to avoid that red hue that makes tourists stick out like a sore thumb. Also, handheld fans and cooling towels (towels that you can wet in a sink and wear around your neck) are lifesavers to help you battle the heat as you’re walking around outside.
Refillable Water Bottles

Hydration is key to making the most of your vacation at Disney, especially if you have multiple days planned. That being said, buying water every time you need to hydrate can add up. We recommend bringing refillable water bottles for you and your family. You can bring them into the park filled with water and ice, and you can fill them at either a water bottle refilling station near a bathroom, a water fountain, or at any quick service restaurant so that you can save your money for other things.
Metal or Reusable Straws

Disney parks are on the paper straw bandwagon, so if you don’t want a mushy straw, make sure to bring a reusable or metal straw with you.
First Aid Kit with Bandaids, Pain Reliever, Anti Chafing Stick, and Hand Sanitizer

Disney does have a first aid station at every park, but sometimes you just need some Tylenol to get over that headache or you need to cover the blister on your foot with a band aid to prevent further pain and damage. Make sure to bring some essential items knowing you and your family so you don’t have to detour or trek to the other end of the park in a time of need.
Phone Charging Block or Power Bank

Available power outlets are few and far between in the park, so if you want your phone to be available for photos and memories and looking up ride times or booking on Genie+ all day, you want to bring a charging block or power bank with you. Now, Disney does have portable charger kiosks in the park that provide FuelRod portable chargers for $30. If you forgot yours, just ask the nearest cast member where the portable charger kiosks are, and they will direct you accordingly.
Now, if you still have room in your bag, there’s a ton more you can bring, including your food to save on money, but we recommend these 7 essentials at a bare minimum.
